Samskara Kendras -2014

  1. Bagavatha Sapthagamam by Balaji Bagavadhar was organized for seven days in our school along with Darma Rakshana Samithi to spread our samskaras.  Around 50 teachers, 100 parents & students participated and got benefitted by it.
  2. Thiruvilakku pooja was conducted along with Dharma Rakshana Samithi in our school for the people in and around Thiruvottiyur.  Parents and neighbours participated in large number (around 300) from nearby slum area poongavanapuram .
  3. Veda Bharathi – A special programme for those boys/adults who have undergone upanayanam to get trained in Sandhyavandanam in their respective vedha.  Nearly 150 participants have got benefitted.
  4. Kalpatharu day was conducted on 1st January 2014.  All the teachers and students performed a  grand bajan.
  5. Sathya Narayana Pooja is performed on all full moon days by parents, students and teachers to get the blessings of God.  
  6. Our school along with Vedha Bharathi, a Bharathiya Cultural organization has organized a workshop on ‘Life Skill and Values’  exclusively for the girls of IX to XI Std.  Sri.Krishna Jagannathanji addressed the gathering.  Nearly 150 girls got benefitted by this Yuva Bharathi Programme.
  7. Athma Vichara Yoga, Meditation and art of living classes are being conducted in SRDKVV for one week from 6.30 pm to 08.30 pm.
  8. Mahalakshmi pooja was conducted in the month of April 2014.  All the teachers have participated in a grand pooja and got benefitted. Sankaranarayana pooja is performed at every poornima day by parents, teachers and students.
  9. Sri.R.B.V.S. Manianji spoke on Hindutva to the people/staff in the month of May 2014. Around 100 people attended the programme.
  10. Our Alumni student Sri.Hariharan along with other alumnus is conducting a special free tuition for the students of nearby slum area in the evenings.
  11. Our Alumnus are visiting orphanage at Nandhiampakkam and continuously supporting their needs by providing food and clothes.
  12. Principal along with parents, students and teachers  visited nearby village.  They had conducted various competitions for the school children of that area and encouraged them by giving prizes.  Also they were given stationaries, uniform clothes etc.,
  13. Our school has adopted an ‘oldage home’ named ‘Sivasakthi Mudhiyor Illam’  Our school is supporting financially and also rendering the other services.
  14. Career guidance programme was conducted for XII Std students of North Chennai by North Chennai Malayali Association associated with Asan Memorial Engineering College and Hindustan Engineering College.  This was the very first Career Guidance Programme in North Chennai.
  15. Sankara Nethralaya is conducting free eye camp every month (first sunday) in our school premises.
  16. Our school along with "Saksham" organisation is helping the physically challenged people.
  17. Our school collects rice through "Pidi Arisi Thittam" and distribute it to the old age home and orphanage.
