"Tell me I forget, show me I remember, involve me I understand".
Our school is affiliated to Vidya Bharathi the largest voluntary educational organization which is guiding more than 26,000 schools all over the nation. To promote culture based education in young minds the pillars of future Bharath under the guidance of Vidya Bharathi - VES schools conduct Vigyana Pradarshini (Maths & Science exhibition). To share our ideology we invited our neighbouring schools. The aim of this exhibition is to make the students excel in the field of science and maths, to understand the usage of old and modern equipments to introduce activity based education and to develop research and scientific thoughts which has to be inculcated in the minds of Children. The knowledge gathered through individual experience is the real knowledge. Every year we conduct Vigyana pradarshini at various levels.
Our Hon. Asst. Correspondent Sri. V. Yugendiran presented welcome address and the exhibition was inaugurated by Sri. T. Panchanathan, Head Master, Vellayan Chettiar Higher Secondary School, Thiruvottiyur and delivered inaugural address. Sri. R. Ravindran, Joint Secretary, VES graced the valedictory function with his present and distributed the prizes. The students of IV std - XII std of various schools participated in Maths and Science exhibition.
The budding scientists of all the school presented many creative ideas in their exhibition. No thermocol was used as we are eco friendly. Exhibits were presented on 35 topics. Totally 12 schools exhibited their models of the given topics. Seven sheids are awarded to
i) Schools with more number of participants
ii) Schools with more number of points in level wise (Sishu, Bala, Kishore, Tarun)
iii) Schools with highest overall points in all the four levels (first and second)
Medals are awarded to the children in first, second and third positions.
Apart from these we also give a memento and participation certificate to all the participants as a mark of encouragement.
Many school visited to view the projects and gained a learning experience for them. Nearly 1000 visitors (parents, public, alumni) visited all the rooms. They were highly motivated and delighted by the explanations of the students.
We are able to see young Sir. C. V. Raman, Ramanjuam among the participants. The entire campus were buzz with activities. The exhibits were indeed eye openers on various topics. The exihibition provides platform for exhibiting studens innovative ideas and applying the working principles of Science and Maths in day to day life activities.
